The concept of direct cremation, which is fairly new in the funeral world involves the simplest of cremations. This allows for family and friends to celebrate the life at any place of their choice after the cremation. It is by no means less dignified and we still offer all the care and attention of the deceased as we always would.
The process is as follows. You would inform us of the passing of your loved one. We would make arrangements to remove, whether this is from a house, care home, or hospital. We would arrange
completion of all paperwork, by ourselves and doctors (if required). If a coroner is envolved we will ensure all their requirements are taken care of. When everything has been arranged we will take
the deceased in a fully fitted and lined coffin to a nearby crematorium for cremation (usually early morning). We can inform you of the time and day. We will then return the ashes to you, or arrange
for them to be scattered at the crematorium. Our fee is outlined below;
DIRECT CREMATION £1295
This includes;
We are OK if a family member, or two would like to meet at the crematorium. Obviously things like a service at the crematorium, viewings in the chapel of rest are not available on this option. Whilst you could always have this it would bring the costs more in line with traditional funerals. We also ask that this fee is paid up front (unlike standard funerals), before the cremation. If you would like help, or advice on arranging a memorial service at another place at a later date then we will happily oblige and offer available options.
